Job Summary
Diagnose, adjust, repair, or overhaul trucks and diesel engines while installing and fixing industrial refrigeration systems. Perform routine maintenance including oil changes, battery checks, and lubrication, then adjust brakes, align wheels, and reassemble equipment. Test drive vehicles to identify malfunctions, inspect brake and steering systems, and use handheld computers and gauges to read dials. Rebuild gas or diesel engines, recondition parts like pistons and valves, and rewire ignition systems. Perform mechanical overhauls on transmissions and differentials, braze parts, and charge refrigeration systems with proper fluids. Estimate, order, and install materials and supplies needed to maintain equipment. Immediately communicate problems with the Supervisor by phone and maintain records of repairs and malfunctions.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum two years related mechanic experience/and or training
- Minimum two years Thermo King or Carrier refrigeration experience/and or training
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards
- Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 20 lbs.
- Must sign a driver consent form upon hire to confirm understanding of dash camera safety procedures
