Job Summary
Gambling Counsellor (Permanent Part Time, 14 hours/week) based in Bega or Cooma, delivering specialised gambling-harm counselling via face-to-face, telephone, and online modalities. Responsibilities include developing and reviewing individualised treatment plans, providing services within the GambleAware framework, facilitating group sessions, timely referrals, and active community engagement. Outreach is essential, with travel during work time; a pool car is provided. A degree in psychology or counselling is preferred and current professional association membership is essential.
Required Qualifications
- Degree in Psychology or Counselling preferred
- Current membership of a recognised professional association essential
- Proven experience in therapeutic counselling across individual, couple, family and group settings
- Strong understanding of gambling-related harm and related challenges
- Ability to develop and implement tailored treatment plans
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Current NSW driver’s license
- National police history check, qualifications, and referee checks, and clearance to work with children/vulnerable people
