Job Summary
GAL Supervisor oversees guardians ad litem caseloads in abuse/neglect/dependency proceedings, recruits and trains child advocate volunteers, may directly serve child clients, and requires travel within the district and out of state. Responsibilities include planning and facilitating volunteer training, reviewing juvenile petitions, assigning and reassigning cases, triaging and interviewing to advocate for children, managing staff and volunteers, coordinating court dockets and reporting, entering data in Enterprise Justice, and testifying in court. The role emphasizes supervision, recruitment, coaching guardians ad litem, data accuracy, and collaborating with attorneys, judicial officials, local agencies, and the public to achieve positive outcomes for child clients. Location is Wake County, NC; travel and in-state travel may be required.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in social work, business administration or management, public administration, non-profit management, or criminal justice; or a related field
- three years of experience, with one year of experience managing staff or volunteers
- management prefers strong skills in personnel management, organization, planning, technology, and data reporting/analysis
