GAINS Activity specialist (Social Services/DHQ) ( P/T 15-20 HRS/WK)

Job Summary
Plan and implement high-quality activities in assigned specialty areas such as art, dance, sports, STEM, or academic enrichment while collaborating with Group Leaders to ensure engaging, developmentally appropriate programming. Maintain a safe, inclusive environment by encouraging youth participation, creativity, and teamwork, and ensure all materials and equipment are used safely. Complete a year-end debrief to address areas of concern for the following program year and demonstrate willingness to assist in dining, outdoor, and indoor activities as needed. Maintain current CPR & First Aid certifications and possess the ability to identify and respond appropriately to emergency situations.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- At least 2 years' experience in a specific area such as art, dance, nutrition, organized sports, or STEM education
- Current CPR & First Aid Certifications
- Available to work part-time hours on School Days and full-time hours on Non-School Days (School Holidays & Summer)
Desired Qualifications
- Associate degree or college credits
- Teaching or facilitation experience with youth in structured program settings
- Bilingual (English/Spanish or other language)
- Interest in leadership with peers or leadership of organized programming
- At least 1 year Experience in Youth or Camp Programming and the ability to teach and enthuse others
