Job Summary
Supervise and guide individuals with developmental disabilities through daily activities, including meal preparation, personal care, toileting, and hygiene assistance. Support clients in learning life skills and facilitate small group activities on-site or in the community. Administer medication as needed while maintaining a positive, accountable demeanor. This role requires a high school diploma or GED, reliable transportation, and the physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Candidates must pass background checks and hold a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
Required Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must possess a high school diploma/GED (proof must be shown upon hire)
- In some cases, applicant may be in the process of earning diploma/GED
- Must have reliable transportation to and from work
- Must have and be able to provide evidence of valid license, auto insurance and have an acceptable driving record (2 points or less) upon hire
- Successful clearance of reference and state and/or federal background checks
- Must be reliable
- Must be able to read, write and understand the English language
- Ability to effectively adapt to different situations
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Must have the physical ability to lift, push or carry up to 50lbs
- Must be able to walk, climb, kneel, squat or crouch, as needed, with or without reasonable accommodation
- Must have adequate communication, time management and organizational skills
- Must have the ability to remain active for extended periods of time
- Must have a positive attitude, friendly demeanor and strong sense of accountability
