Job Summary
Athletic Coordinator responsibilities include assisting the District Athletic Director and Principal in selecting and evaluating coaching staff, representing the school at athletic conference meetings, serving as game manager for home events, coordinating athletic banquets, managing athlete eligibility, recommending athletic purchases, and ensuring compliance with SCHSL rules. The role requires collaboration with coaches on travel, attending home athletics events, and supporting overall athletics operations for Gaffney Middle School within Cherokee County School District.
Required Qualifications
- Teaching preferred with at least three years experience in athletic administration or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the knowledge and skills required for the position
- Demonstrated knowledge of interscholastic athletics
- Previous experience in coaching
- Demonstrated ability to generate monetary support for all athletics
- Demonstrated experience in athletic facilities development and maintenance
- Knowledge of post-secondary athletic rules and regulations
- Principal experience preferred
- Valid South Carolina driver's license
- Must have or be able to obtain a valid South Carolina CDL license
