Job Summary
The University of Arkansas at Little Rock's Computer Science Department seeks candidates for graduate teaching assistant (GTA) and graduate research assistant (GRA) positions. GTA responsibilities include attending class sessions, assisting in laboratory activities, tutoring students, and grading assignments. GRA responsibilities involve supporting research activities, developing work plans, conducting independent research, and assisting with project deliverables. Candidates are required to be enrolled in a graduate program, have a minimum GPA of 3.00, and maintain specific course load requirements. Preferred skills include programming languages, frontend and mobile application development, and database design.
Required Qualifications
- Currently admitted to a graduate degree program at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock
- A 3.00 cumulative GPA for all UA Little Rock graduate credit courses
- Enroll in at least 9 hours during each fall and spring semester during a full GA appointment or 6 hours for a half GA appointment
Desired Qualifications
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Programming in languages such as C++, Python, Java or C#
- Frontend web design and development skills including HTML, CSS, and Javascript
- Web application and mobile application development technologies such as Android Studio, Xcode, Swift, React, JQuery, Bootstrap, Node.js
- Database design and development including SQL
- Software engineering methodologies and full software development lifecycle (SDLC) knowledge and experience
- IT Infrastructure knowledge including hardware, operating systems, networks, and cloud computing
