Job Summary
Assist the classroom teacher as directed, monitor and supervise students indoors and outdoors, and conduct student observations as needed. Support the education program throughout the school day, attend field trips, implement classroom procedures, and participate in all emergency and safety plans. Ensure all students are supported in learning activities while maintaining strong collaboration with staff, parents, and the community. This part-time role at Vaughn Next Century Learning Center serves TK through 1st grade students.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- 48 semester college units/60 quarter college units OR pass a pre-employment test with 70% or better
- Current college enrollment, if bachelors not yet earned
- Proficient in reading, writing, and math
- Must pass a criminal background check (Live Scan) with the Department of Justice (DOJ)
- Must provide a Tuberculosis skin test (Mantoux) clearance within 60 days of employment
- Will be assigned mandated state training to be completed prior to the first day of employment
Desired Qualifications
- Bilingual: English/Spanish
- Degree in Education or related field
- Experience working in a primary classroom setting
- Experience with small group presentations
- Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
- Experience and commitment to working collaboratively with staff, parents, and community
