Job Summary
Conduct gameday rehearsals and performances at Carr's Hill Field, including recording pregame shows, halftime acts, and two quarters of football games in Section 104. Capture behind-the-scenes candid moments such as bus rides, meals, and tunnel runs while coordinating field show coverage from the upper deck and close-up shots on the field. Record additional events like the Farmington Country Club performance and the Seven Stars Music Festival. Collaborate with the Social Media Committee and Visual Media Crew to create field show videos published on the Band's YouTube and Instagram channels. Work with CMB course materials and utilize provided Canon XA-55 camcorders and Sennheiser microphones.
Required Qualifications
- Strong videographer skills/experience
- video editing software packages
- excellent written and oral communication skills
- good interpersonal skills
- self-motivated and able to work independently
- able to work creatively while staying on schedule
- interest in the arts and telling the stories of student musicians in the Cavalier Marching Band
- interest in learning more about people
- UVA Undergraduate students only
- open to being a Federal Work Study assignment
