Job Summary

Operate in the field, on-call, or provide technical support to assigned customers by installing, configuring, and maintaining products at sites following blueprints and manufacturer instructions. Perform skilled technical work on design, installation, testing, calibration, and repair of assigned equipment, including setting up butt fusion, electrofusion, and socket fusion operations. Inspect fusion joints for defects, maintain accurate project documentation, and conduct routine maintenance on fusion equipment and tools. Load, unload, and transport materials to job sites while adhering to all safety policies and regulatory requirements. Assist other technicians with installation and testing activities, participate in training programs, and pursue fusion certifications as needed. This role involves significant travel, with overnight trips exceeding 50% of the time, and requires working in shop, field, and outdoor environments.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Ability to read and interpret basic drawings, specifications, and work instructions
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to safely use hand and power tools
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
  • Willingness to travel and work overtime as needed
  • Ability to obtain required certifications and complete company training programs
  • Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record
  • CDL license
  • Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry materials and equipment up to 50 pounds
  • Occasional ability to balance, bend, stoop, kneel or crawl
  • Ability to occasionally work near moving mechanical parts
  • Ability to occasionally be exposed to outside weather conditions
  • Ability to occasionally be exposed to loud noise
  • Ability to occasionally lift/push/carry items up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to occasionally work in uneven terrain, trenches, construction sites, and industrial environments
  • Ability to be regularly exposed to outdoor weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, and humidity
  • Ability to be exposed to dust, dirt, noise, and vibration associated with construction and fabrication activities
  • Ability to frequently stand
  • Ability to frequently walk
  • Ability to continually sit
  • Ability to continually utilize hand and finger dexterity
  • Ability to continually talk or hear
  • Ability to continually utilize visual acuity to read technical information and/or use a keyboard

Desired Qualifications

  • Previous construction, utility, pipeline, mechanical, fabrication, or similar experience
  • HDPE fusion training or certification
  • Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record (preferred)
  • CDL license (preferred)
