Fusion Island Breeding Blanket Lead (f/m/d)

Job Summary
Lead the design and development of the fusion island breeding blanket, overseeing cooling concepts, tritium breeding, and structural integrity from early concept through construction. Define and govern the overall power cycle design architecture, including major parameters and safety approaches, while resolving complex cross-cutting technical issues. Write key engineering deliverables such as design basis documents and interface control documents, and lead a multidisciplinary team to manage requirements, licensing, and design change control. Report design status, risks, and issues regularly to the Fusion Island Group Leader.
Required Qualifications
- M. Sc. in nuclear engineering or chemical engineering
- Ph. D. in nuclear engineering or Ph. D. in chemical engineering is an advantage
- Experience in thermal-hydraulics, tritium transport and mechanical design
- Minimum of 5 years of experience
- Minimum 2 years of experience leading multidisciplinary technical teams
- Deep knowledge of safety analyses principles, and design basis development
- Knowledge of nuclear reactor physics
- Advanced Fusion Reactor knowledge is an advantage
- IFE is an advantage
- Mastery of CFD or Thermomechanical FEA tools
- Understanding tritium fuel cycle, and I&C
- Manage requirements, RAMI, licensing, documentation and control, project scheduling
Desired Qualifications
- Mastery in thermal hydraulics applied to the nuclear industry
- Mastery in tritium transport applied to the nuclear industry, especially in fusion
- Experience in advanced nuclear reactor systems
- Programming skills
