Job Summary
Operate a stock picker to pull and put away merchandise, shrink wrap items, and prepare repaired goods for stocking. Use radio frequency scanners and material handling equipment to move products within the warehouse while correctly using hand trucks. Inspect power equipment and complete vehicle inspection reports before operation, maintaining a clean and safe work environment. Commit to safety policies and promote safety awareness throughout the facility. Work independently, follow oral and written instructions accurately, and handle merchandise up to 100 lbs with team lifting techniques. Manage flexible shifts including holidays and weekends. Training provided on warehouse equipment and personal protective equipment.
Required Qualifications
- Commitment to AFW's safety policies and procedures and ability to promote safety awareness
- Knowledge of the correct lifting/team lifting techniques
- Ability to read, understand, and follow oral and written instructions accurately
- Ability to safely handle product from 0 to 35 feet above the ground
- Ability to efficiently work independently of direct supervision
- Able to have a flexible schedule and work all shifts, holidays, and weekends
- Work as a team member by interacting and communicating with fellow associates in a cooperative, constructive manner
- A pre-employment drug screen, background and fit for duty exam check must be passed upon job offer
- Capability to stand, walk, stoop, & bend for 8 hours or more daily
- Lifting, gripping, bending, kneeling, stooping, and moving merchandise 8 hours or more daily
- Continuous use of arms, hands, fingers, eyes, legs, and back
- Ability to lift, lower, move, carry, push and pull all sizes of merchandise up to 100 lbs. and the skill to handle/manipulate merchandise up to 250 lbs. frequently
- Able to work in various environments with different lighting, loud exterior noise, and flooring
- Ability to work 0 to 35 feet above the ground
Desired Qualifications
- Prior experience operating warehouse equipment preferred
- Ability to become certified in the operation of warehouse equipment
- Ability to be trained on the correct use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
