Job Summary
Perform cleaning, monitoring, and securing operations to assist in the set-up of a vacuum atomization furnace. Execute repetitive tasks before, after, and during the atomization process, including preparing raw material charges, running the furnace control board, and making minor repairs on the furnace, atomization chamber, and auxiliary equipment. Utilize an electric hoist to remove and replace the furnace lid and coils, clean the interior chamber and O-ring seal, and patch cracks in crucibles. Adhere to CORE and EH&S guidelines, including wearing required personal protective equipment such as a respirator and mask. Work the 4th shift from Friday through Sunday, 7:00am to 7:00pm, at the onsite location in Clayville, NY.
Required Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship
- HS diploma (or equivalent, e.g. G.E.D in the US)
- Strong attendance record
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to work hours outside of the regular shift
- Good mechanical aptitude
- Ability to wear a respirator
- Ability to ascend and descend stairs
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Ability to bend
- Ability to squat
- Ability to twist
- Ability to reach overhead
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds
