Job Summary
Operate mobile equipment to feed the furnace, move furnace feed, or transport product from furnace operations. Identify materials correctly according to furnace feed, storage location, and by-product. Operate feed belts, swing spouts, bobcats, and other machinery to clean work areas and transport materials. Clean crane aisles, pick up kettles, and maintain belt lines. Assist furnace operators as needed while following EHS policies, reporting unsafe conditions, and supporting continuous improvement. Complete tasks in a safe, environmentally compliant manner. Requires high school diploma, one year of loader experience, and ability to monitor furnace control panels. Located at the Buick Resource Recycling Facility in Boss, MO, with a rotating shift schedule.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum one year of experience operating a loader and/or other mobile equipment
- Ability to identify materials and storage locations properly
- Ability to follow feed mixing, loading, and unloading procedures
- Proficient in basic maintenance, including but not limited to tightening, lubrication, and cleaning
- Basic computer skills
- Ability to monitor a furnace control panel
- Ability to identify and distinguish colors
- Ability to judge distance and spatial relationships
- Precise hand-eye coordination
- Clarity of vision at 20 feet and 20 inches
- Three-dimensional vision
- The ability to lift up to 15 pounds
- The ability to lift up to 100 pounds
- Ability to wear personal protective equipment, including, but not limited to, respirator, hearing protection and eyewear
- Ability to work near moving, mechanical parts and moderate noise levels
- Ability to tolerate vibration, extreme heat, confined spaces and at heights of more than 4 feet with fall protection
