Job Summary
Funeral Services Assistant (part-time) provides clerical and administrative support for funeral operations, greeting client families, answering questions, assisting during services and visitations, and handling office duties and transportation as needed. Responsibilities include preparing for services (arrangements, caskets, urns, photos, keepsakes), preparing service-related documents, assisting with remains care as permitted by law, operating office systems (phones, fax, computer, debit, etc.), driving funeral home vehicles for services and family pickups, coordinating refreshments (where allowed), and supporting visitation and ceremony setup. Requires high school diploma or equivalent, previous customer service experience preferred, proficiency with MS Office and databases preferred, and a valid state driver’s license with an acceptable driving record. Must demonstrate compassion, integrity, clear communication, professionalism, and ability to work as part of a team.
Required Qualifications
- Education High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience Previous customer service and/or sales experience preferred
- Proficient with MS Office suite and databases preferred; ability and willingness to learn required
- Certification/Licenses Valid state driver’s license with an acceptable driving record required
