Job Summary
Deliver Vigil, Funeral Masses, and Committal Services while assisting clergy and maintaining the highest standard of customer care. Transport decedents, flowers, and memorabilia via hearses and vans, adjusting the decedent in the casket as needed. Set up and clean CFCS facilities before and after services, ensuring cleanliness of chapels, bathrooms, and reception rooms. Maintain vehicle readiness by fueling and reporting operational issues, while exhibiting exceptional empathy and respect for at-need families. Work Monday through Friday with some weekends and evenings, reporting to the Lead Service Director. A licensed funeral director with a valid California driver's license and knowledge of Catholic traditions is required.
Required Qualifications
- Licensed Funeral Director
- Valid California Driver's License
- Catholic in good standing
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Associate Degree
- Ability to lift at least 50 lbs
- Ability to spend up to 3 consecutive hours standing, indoors and outdoors, in all weather conditions
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, Access, Outlook)
- Excellent interpersonal and phone skills
- Great organizational skills
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality
- Professional temperament and appearance
- Ability to communicate effectively in oral and written form using correct spelling, grammar and punctuation
- Ability to work and relate to a variety of personalities and cultures with diplomacy, friendliness and poise
- Ability to work in a team-oriented environment
- Ability to handle multiple assignments consecutively and prioritize workload
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
- Must be able to spend up to 3 consecutive hours standing, indoors and outdoors, in all weather conditions
