Job Summary
Direct all funeral service activities, including facility preparation, supervising funeral directors, and performing embalming as needed. Oversee administrative and support services, approve expenditures, manage work schedules, and coordinate with government agencies and vendors. Plan marketing strategies to expand the client base and represent the company in customer complaints, legal matters, and contract preparations. Maintain knowledge of funeral business laws and policies while interacting directly with clients, community events, and offsite appointments. Requires a licensed funeral director and embalmer with 5+ years of operations experience, plus availability for holidays, evenings, and weekends.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in the operations of a Funeral Home
- Licensed funeral director and embalmer or the ability to obtain a state license
- Degree from an accredited school of embalming or mortuary science
- 1 year of supervisory or management experience
- Proven leadership ability, excellent customer service, sales and communication skills
- Ability to supervise, motivate, and train personnel; can appropriately handle employee relations and performance issues
- Possesses confidence and professionalism to interact with clients over the phone and in person
- Enjoys interacting and collaborating effectively with others in a team atmosphere
- Must posses a valid drivers license and access to a personal vehicle
- This position requires availability to work some holidays, evenings and weekends as needed
