Job Summary
Guide location leadership in managing business, finances, marketing, and people resources while achieving annual sales revenue, production targets, and Profit & Loss goals. Approve annual business plans, budgets, and expenditures; monitor financial outcomes to facilitate sustainable decisions. Provide direction on short-term planning, resolve complex problems, and ensure compliance with federal, state regulations, and safety standards. Collaborate with market leadership to remove operational barriers, implement change initiatives, and improve customer satisfaction indexes. Develop a trusted team by addressing skill gaps, managing hiring and promotions, and establishing pay structures. Work beyond standard hours as needed with up to 75% travel, supporting families at difficult times across multiple locations in the Funeral Home industry.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Applicable state Funeral Director licensure
- At least eleven (11) years industry experience
- At least six (6) years experience managing people
- At least six (6) years experience managing budgets and expense control
- Knowledge of industry competitive pricing, demographic patterns, and market competition
- Knowledgeable in Financial and Business acumen
- Professional interpersonal skills as well as cultural sensitivity and tactfulness to interact with a variety of cultures and language barriers
- Proficient in MS Office suite including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Working beyond 'standard' hours as the need arises
- Travel up to 75%
Desired Qualifications
- Technical schooling diploma Funeral Services/Mortuary Science
- Bachelor's degree in Mortuary Science where required by state law
- Pursuing an Associate's Degree in Finance, Marketing, Business or related discipline
- Strong, trusting, empowered, and reliable team
