Job Summary
As the licensed Funeral Director, you will facilitate funeral arrangements with deceased’s next of kin, preside over visitation, funeral, and graveside services, and ensure compliance with mortuary regulations. Responsibilities include conducting Arrangements Conferences, coordinating removals/transfers, guiding families through merchandise and service options (including cemetery and crematory offerings), transitioning engagements to a Funeral Services Counselor, presenting pre-need and life-insurance options, and serving as Master of Ceremonies while maintaining professionalism and compassion. You will supervise order fulfillment, document removal status, interact with families to fulfill death-care requests, and uphold regulatory and company standards across all services. Strong communication, empathy, and organizational skills, plus proficiency with databases and MS Office, are essential.
Required Qualifications
- Graduated from an accredited school or college of mortuary science
- Current Funeral Director license within the practicing state
- Valid state driver’s license with an acceptable driving record required to operate company owned vehicles
- Industry experience is preferred
