Job Summary
Conduct compassionate funeral arrangement discussions with next of kin, preside over visitation, funeral, and graveside services, and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. Manage arrangements conferences, authorize merchandise and service contracts, and perform Master of Ceremonies duties while visually inspecting deceased and verifying burial protocols. Plan events by coordinating resources, producing memorabilia, and preparing service rooms, followed by post-event cleanup and family deliverables. Maintain regulatory compliance, utilize proprietary software for status updates, and represent the company at community or charity events. Requires a current Canadian Funeral Director license, valid driver's license, and flexibility for nights, weekends, and seasonal outdoor work. Located in Edmonton, AB.
Required Qualifications
- Current Canadian Funeral Director license
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record
- Must have a positive attitude
- Must be highly self-motivated
- Ability to build professional and trusting business relations
- Professional written and verbal communication skills
- Public speaking skills with the ability to influence and gain consensus
- Proficient using databases in automated processes
- Proficient MS Office skills
- Ability to push and pull up to 150 pounds on flat and inclined flooring or ramps
- Flexibility of availability is a requirement
- Standards hours include nights and weekends
- Limited amount of local and/or multiple location travel
