Funeral Director/Embalmer

Job Summary
The Funeral Director/Embalmer serves as the primary contact for client families, performing various tasks during the preparation, planning, and execution of funeral services. Responsibilities include consulting with client families to create tailored service options, obtaining necessary documentation, coordinating with clergy and others involved, preparing and embalming the deceased, overseeing service arrangements, and maintaining a safe operation within legal guidelines. The ideal candidate should possess a valid Funeral Director and Embalmer License, have at least 5 years of related experience, and demonstrate effective communication, detail orientation, and customer service skills.
Required Qualifications
- Valid and applicable state Funeral Director and Embalmer License; reciprocal across states and in good standing
- Valid state issued driver’s license in good standing and acceptable driving record
- 5 years’ experience as a licensed Funeral Director/Embalmer
- Four-year degree or equivalent combination of education, training and experience preferred
Desired Qualifications
- Bilingual is a plus
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint) preferred
Additional Requirements
- Must have sufficient strength and manual dexterity
- Must be able to perform job duties when awakened from a sound sleep
