Job Summary
Funeral Director/Embalmer responsibilities include embalming, removals and transfers, cosmetology, dressing, and hair styling of the deceased, plus preparation as required for the deceased. The role involves presenting clients with service and merchandise options, maintaining accurate client files, participating in community activities to grow market share, performing or assisting with additional tasks as needed, and handling on-call duties. The candidate will meet with client families to arrange personalized funeral services, ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations, complete required paperwork, conduct funeral services, and perform post-service follow-up as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Current license or certification if required by state regulations
- 2+ years of funeral industry experience
- Professional communication skills
- Experience handling sensitive situations in a professional manner
- Knowledge of current federal, state, and local regulations related to the funeral industry
- Understanding of the services and products available
