Job Summary
Set up rooms for ceremonies by arranging chairs, tables, icons, and keepsakes, then clean vehicles and caskets for visitation or funeral services. Greet visitors, provide programs, answer questions, and escort guests while driving families to cemetery sites. Assist with preparing the deceased, including dressing and adjusting clothing, and serve as pallbearers. Handle office tasks such as answering phones, entering data into proprietary systems, making copies, and managing mailroom duties. Maintain reception areas, refreshments, and company property after services. Work beyond standard business hours, including weekends and holidays, while driving company vehicles and performing manual labor involving lifting up to 50 pounds.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Valid state issued driver's license with an acceptable driving record
- Ability to follow instructions given over the phone or in person
- Ability to use personal computer and type
- Ability to work and communicate effectively with others
- Ability to work with kindness and compassion for the deceased and their families
- Ability to maintain composure in challenging situations
- Good verbal and written communications skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Ability to work with colleagues to accomplish tasks
- Ability to work evenings and weekends
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to push/pull up to 200 pounds
- Physical effort requiring manual dexterity
- Ability to stand for continuous periods of time up to 6 hours per day
- Ability to climb stairs to access buildings frequently
- Must be available for weekends and holidays
- Must be available for nights
- Must be available for working beyond standard business hours
- Professional Dress is required when in contact with families
