Job Summary
Funeral Attendant (part-time) assists with funeral services and related office tasks. Responsibilities include preparing the deceased and casket for visitation or funeral services, setting up rooms, greeting and guiding guests, assisting with pallbearers, transporting caskets and family members, driving families to cemetery sites, and performing data-entry and office tasks such as phones, reception, document review, and mailroom duties. Must be able to work beyond standard hours, including weekends and holidays. Requires physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds and push/pull up to 200 pounds, valid driver’s license, and compassionate, professional demeanor. Offers a role in a full-service funeral organization with emphasis on assisting families during difficult times and maintaining confidentiality and respectful conduct.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Valid state issued driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds; push/pull up to 200 pounds
- Ability to work evenings and weekends
- Ability to follow instructions given over the phone or in person
- Ability to work with kindness and compassion for the deceased and families
- Good verbal and written communications skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
