Funeral Assistant / Attendant Part-Time

Job Summary
Conduct dignified transport and care of the deceased, including removals, lifting, carrying, and preparation activities. Assist with preparing, dressing, and placing decedents into caskets, while setting up floral arrangements, chairs, urns, and personal keepsakes for services. Perform administrative duties such as answering phones, operating fax machines and computers, and preparing documents for cremations and maintenance. Drive funeral home vehicles for services and family transportation, wash vehicles, and run errands like floral deliveries and supply pick-ups. Serve as an usher, assist with parking, and greet client families during visitations, memorials, and funeral services. Work beyond standard business hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, while maintaining confidentiality and composure in challenging situations.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Able to use a computer and type
- Proficient in MS Office suite
- Valid state driver's license with an acceptable driving record
- Able to follow written and verbal instructions
- Able to work and communicate effectively with others
- Able to maintain composure in challenging situations
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
- Must be able to pull/push 200lbs or more of removals if required
- Must be able to work beyond standard business hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as needed
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds
- Must be able to push/pull up to 200 pounds
- Able to pass a Background Check
- Professional Dress is required when in contact with families
