Funeral Ambassador

Job Summary
Greet and direct client families and guests to the correct chapel, manage the guest book, and distribute memorialization materials during visitation and memorialization events. Answer inquiries, serve refreshments, and ensure public spaces like lobbies and chapels are clean and prepared before and after services. Receive and place flowers, oversee parking arrangements for formal processions, and assist with transporting attendees to and from service locations. Act as a community ambassador to build trust, representing the business professionally while maintaining a courteous demeanor. Perform duties in an indoor office setting with occasional outdoor exposure to elements, requiring the ability to lift up to 25 pounds and work independently with little supervision.
Required Qualifications
- Able to read, write and speak English fluently
- Attend and perform work in a professional and courteous manner in accordance with the employer's requirements
- Demonstrated willingness to participate in growing market share through personal community involvement
- Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external customers
- Ability to empathize with client families and their guests and demonstrate tact and patience in emotionally charged situations
- Ability to actively respond to the requests of the client families and their guests
- Tactful and professional when dealing with complaints or dissatisfaction with services or merchandise
- Maintains a positive attitude and working environment through organization and communication
- Ability to simultaneously handle multiple projects, prioritizes tasks, and exercise good judgment
- Ability to work independently with little or no supervision
- Overtime is sometimes necessary or required
- Travel is primarily local occurring during the business day only
- Employees in this role are regularly required to climb, sit, stand, bend, kneel, and frequently lift up to 25 pounds
- Performance of this position's duties may also require reaching, pushing, and pulling
- Employees may be exposed to chemicals and/or blood borne pathogens
- Four-year degree or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred
- At least 1-year experience in funeral arranging preferred
