Funeral Ambassador

Job Summary
The Ambassador performs a variety of tasks during the funeral and memorialization process and assists Funeral Directors and other location staff to ensure services run smoothly and that the expectations of our client families and their guests are exceeded. Greets and directs client families and guests to the correct chapel, directs visitors to guest book and distributes memorialization materials, answers questions, and assists with serving the needs of families and attendees. Responsible for receiving and placing flowers, ensuring refreshments, and maintaining clean/ready public spaces before and after services. Oversees parking, assists with vehicle arrangements for ceremonial processions, and helps direct/transport families and attendees to service locations. Acts as an ambassador of the business in the community and represents the business professionally and ethically at all times. Maintains professional appearance and demeanor and performs other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Valid state issued driver’s license in good standing and acceptable driving record
- No prior experience required
- Able to read, write and speak English fluently; bilingual a plus
- Attend and perform work in a professional and courteous manner per employer’s requirements
- Demonstrated willingness to participate in growing market share through personal community involvement
- Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external customers
- Ability to empathize with client families and their guests and demonstrate tact and patience in emotionally charged situations
- Ability to actively respond to requests of client families and guests
- Tactful and professional when dealing with complaints or dissatisfaction with services or merchandise
- Maintains a positive attitude and working environment through organization and communication
- Ability to work independently with little or no supervision
