Job Summary
The role focuses on strengthening Salesforce-driven fundraising analytics and data governance to guide Development planning. Responsible for serving as the Development team’s day-to-day Salesforce partner, managing donor- and campaign-related data, building dashboards and reports to communicate fundraising progress, and translating fundraising needs into clear Salesforce requirements for internal teams or external consultants. Key tasks include data integrity, forecasting and scenario planning for annual giving and major campaigns, donor segmentation and targeted outreach support, moves management, and collaboration with Finance, IT, and Development leadership to optimize systems and reporting. The position requires strong Excel and data-analytics skills, experience with Salesforce and CRM translation, and the ability to train staff and document processes. Working onsite in San Francisco, CA, with a typical 40-hour work week and occasional after-hours support. The role reports to the Director of Development Operations and collaborates across the Development team to ensure data-driven decision-making.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required (information systems, data analytics, business administration, nonprofit management, or related fields)
- 2–4 years nonprofit fundraising/advancement experience preferred
- Advanced Excel skills
- Experience building reports, dashboards, and performing data analysis to support fundraising goals
- Experience translating data into insights and performance reporting for leadership
- Experience with Salesforce or similar CRM for fundraising
- Familiarity with donor lifecycle, campaigns, and forecasting
- Strong communication and training skills to translate technical concepts to non-technical staff
- Experience with ETL tools for data extraction/transformation
- Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Compliance with data privacy standards and cross-functional collaboration
