Job Summary
Fundraising Specialist role focused on supporting Islamic Relief Canada’s Fund Development in Halifax. Responsibilities include maintaining and expanding donor relationships within an allocated region, developing partnerships with mosques and community groups, organizing fundraisers at mosques and community venues (e.g., Ramadan, Qurbani, emergencies), meeting fundraising targets and ROI, formalizing partnerships via MOUs or contracts, providing fundraising support, handling inquiries, and communicating performance updates to the Line Manager. The role also involves building a regional volunteer team, planning and executing grassroots community events, coordinating larger IRC events and tours, recruiting and managing volunteers, and representing the organization at local and regional events. Required skills include client and stakeholder relationship management, event planning and management, volunteer recruitment and leadership, fundraising target achievement, strong interpersonal and communication abilities, and proficiency with IT tools (Google Suite, project management tools) to deliver KPIs. Required Qualifications
- 2+ years of demonstrated experience in leading project coordination efforts, particularly in events, campaigns, or fundraising initiatives
- Experience in establishing and managing relationships with key stakeholders, including community leaders and partners
- Experience of organizing and supervising events
- Experience of recruiting, managing and developing volunteers
- Experience of achieving fundraising targets and successfully managing community relations
- A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, nonprofit management, or related field is preferred
- Current local driving license and access to a vehicle
- Willingness to travel nationally and internationally, and at short notice
