Job Summary
Research and analyze prospect backgrounds, wealth indicators, and interests to identify and qualify individual, corporate, and foundation prospects, with a focus on major gift ($50K+) and principal gift ($5M+) levels. Monitor appointment notices, awards, and public news sources to track significant developments impacting fundraising strategies. Prepare detailed prospect profiles, lists, and ad-hoc research products to support strategic planning and campaign initiatives. Manage prospect tracking, portfolio assignments, and pipeline management while ensuring database records in Raiser's Edge remain accurate. Conduct regular portfolio reviews for emerging major gift and leadership donors, maintaining campaign tracking processes and evaluating prospecting efforts for priority areas. Manage multiple competing requests from internal and external stakeholders under tight timelines.
Required Qualifications
- A successful completion of a degree or diploma in a related field from an accredited educational institution
- 3 to 5 years of related experience in prospect research or a fundraising environment
- Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills
- Highly adaptable, with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment under tight deadlines without foregoing attention to detail and data integrity
- Demonstrated aptitude for analyzing and interpreting data, and for synthesizing complex information from multiple sources
- Strong computer skills including proficiency in Raiser's Edge and/or other fundraising/CRM databases
Desired Qualifications
- Proven equivalent and recent related education, training and experience may be considered
- Exposure to a fundraising environment is considered an asset
- Strong qualitative and quantitative analytical and research skills
