Job Summary
Analyze and validate supporting documentation for consumer loan applications to prevent fraud and ensure quality control. Interpret approvals and conditions while verifying all requirements are met, ensuring loans comply with Credit Union and regulatory guidelines. Proactively monitor loan queues and service requests to maintain timely responsiveness, complete daily departmental functions including report reviews, and provide training to peers. Identify process improvements to enhance efficiency and administer functional area testing for system upgrades. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of lending policies and products through ongoing training. Report directly to Consumer Lending management.
Required Qualifications
- Candidates must have current authorization to work in the U.S. (no sponsorship available)
- HS Diploma or equivalent
- Associate Funding Specialist: Minimum of 1 year consumer loan processing or equivalent loan processing work experience or minimum of 2 years of customer service or clerical work experience
- Funding Specialist: Minimum of 2 years consumer loan processing or equivalent loan processing work experience
- Ability to navigate and process within multiple interdependent systems and tools
- Ability to analyze and interpret a credit report
- Ability to identify, communicate and advocate financial solutions that drive results
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment, and efficiently organize work priorities and accurately complete multiple tasks within strict timeframes with minimal supervision
- Ability to use independent judgment and discretion when reviewing appropriate exceptions to the Credit Union guidelines
- Ability to work independently and motivated to achieve goals with minimal supervision
- Ability to meet production standards
- Effective, professional verbal and written communication skills
- Proficient mathematical and analytical skills to include rate, ratio and percentage calculations
- Candidates must live within a reasonable commuting distance of the communities served by Travis Credit Union, which include the following counties: Alameda, Colusa, Contra Costa, Merced, Napa, Placer, Sacramento, San Joaquin, Solano, Sonoma, Stanislaus, and Yolo
