Job Summary
Review medical documentation for accuracy and medical necessity, then submit for prior authorization with all required documentation to the appropriate funding source. Maintain consistent follow-up on the status of all prior authorization requests and review payer authorizations to determine approved or denied items. Calculate estimated copays based on current insurance benefits and communicate with the Supervisor regarding issues or changes with the payer. Respond to all internal and external customers in a timely and professional manner. This role requires six months of medical documentation experience, proficiency in Microsoft Office, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma/GED
- Associates degree
- Six months medical documentation related experience
- Experience with prior authorizations
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and juggle multiple priorities
- Ability to think quickly, assess a situation and make a sound decision
- Ability to use technology to optimize efficiency and effectiveness
- Solid written and verbal communication, listening, organization and priority setting skills
- Listens well and retains instructions; accepts constructive feedback from supervisor
- Track record of being consistent with attendance and prompt arrival at work and meetings
- Ability to perform job with integrity and values consistent with the Numotion Mission
