Job Summary
Deliver medication to nursing units and outpatient areas, process printed medication orders, and stock medication requests. Process medication trays, answer telephone calls at the customer service window, and replace returned medication to appropriate storage areas. Monitor par levels, reorder supplies, and repackage pharmaceuticals into unit dose packages. Complete on-the-job competency programs to maintain proficiency in drug names, doses, strengths, and formulations. This entry-level role requires a Wisconsin pharmacy technician license and is supervised by the Pharmacist-on-duty.
Required Qualifications
- High School or Equivalent (GED)
- Wisconsin pharmacy technician license
- knowledge of pharmacy
- working knowledge of drug names, doses, strengths, and formulations
- ability to successfully complete Pharmacy Technician competency programs through on-the-job exposure
Desired Qualifications
- Certification as a Pharmacy Technician within 12 months
