Job Summary
Fund Controller for Retail Investor Funds responsible for daily valuation coordination, fund accounting operations, expense budgeting, NAV calculations, financial reporting (annual/quarterly, including investor reporting and board materials), and coordination with fund service providers. Requires BA/BS in Accounting/Finance (CPA preferred), 8+ years in financial services or top-tier accounting, and experience with mutual funds/hedge funds/private equity; role involves SOX/compliance, US GAAP reporting, and collaboration with CFO and finance leadership. Office-based in Chicago with onsite/hybrid schedule (Tuesdays–Thursdays in office).
Required Qualifications
- BA/BS in Accounting/Finance
- CPA preferred
- 8+ years of experience in financial services accounting or top-tier accounting firm
- experience with mutual funds/private equity/hedge funds/alternative products
- familiarity with Investment Company Act of 1940 and SEC regulations preferred
- SOX 404 experience a plus
- strong communication and collaboration skills
- team player and self-starter
- ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
