Job Summary
Define, develop, and implement Functional Safety requirements for automotive systems ensuring compliance with ISO 26262. Conduct Hazard Analysis and Risk Assessment (HARA) to determine Automotive Safety Integrity Levels and establish Safety Goals. Act as technical interface between Product Compliance, systems, software, and hardware teams to translate requirements into actionable specifications. Review architectures and engineering deliverables to verify compliance and support safety analyses for complex system issues. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure consistent integration of safety requirements throughout the product development lifecycle. Full-time hybrid/remote role in Madrid, Spain. No work visa sponsorship available.
Required Qualifications
- Degree in Automotive, Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical Engineering or a similar technical field
- At least 5 years of professional experience in the automotive industry
- Professional experience in Functional Safety applied to automotive systems
- Strong knowledge of ISO 26262 and its application throughout the automotive product development lifecycle
- Experience with Hazard Analysis and Risk Assessment (HARA), Safety Goals and ASIL classification
- Knowledge of Functional Safety Concept and Technical Safety Concept development
- Good understanding of automotive electrical/electronic architectures, embedded systems and system development processes
- Ability to analyse complex systems and translate safety and regulatory requirements into actionable engineering requirements
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Good command of English, both written and spoken
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with Functional Safety requirements management, traceability and verification activities
- Experience with safety analyses such as FMEA, FTA or similar methodologies
- Knowledge of automotive powertrain systems, hybrid or electrified vehicles and their critical electronic components
- Knowledge of ISO/SAE 21434 and automotive cybersecurity
- Knowledge of ASPICE and AUTOSAR
- Experience working with multidisciplinary system, software and hardware engineering teams
- Knowledge of French
