Job Summary
Analyze functional and business requirements to design detailed test scenarios, test cases, and test data. Execute end-to-end functional, integration, system, and regression testing while validating UI, workflows, and data integrity. Log defects with clear reproduction steps, collaborate with developers to troubleshoot issues, and provide daily/weekly execution reports. Maintain test repositories, prepare test plans, and support release readiness sign-offs. Execute and maintain basic automation scripts using tools like Selenium or Cypress.
Required Qualifications
- 4-6 years of experience in manual/functional testing
- basic exposure to test automation
- 3–5 years of hands-on experience in functional/manual testing of web or enterprise applications
- Strong understanding of SDLC and STLC
- Experience in preparing and executing detailed test cases and scenarios
- Good knowledge of different testing types: functional, integration, system, regression, smoke, sanity
- Experience in defect lifecycle management using tools like JIRA, Azure DevOps, or similar
- Exposure to test automation tools (e.g., Selenium WebDriver, Cypress, Playwright, or similar)
- Ability to execute existing automation scripts and understand basic scripting concepts
- Familiarity with at least one programming/scripting language (e.g., Java, JavaScript, Python)
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related discipline
Desired Qualifications
- Equivalent experience with relevant certifications in testing (e.g., ISTQB)
- Knowledge of API testing using Postman/REST client tools
- Basic understanding of SQL for data validation
- Exposure to CI/CD pipelines for test execution
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Good communication and documentation skills
- Ability to work in an agile environment (Scrum/Kanban)
- Detail-oriented and quality-focused mindset
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum teams
- Prior experience in domain areas such as Banking/Financial Services, Insurance, Healthcare, or Retail
- Willingness to upgrade skills in test automation and DevOps-related testing
