Job Summary
Analyze financial data, prepare accounting reports and projections, and evaluate capital expenditures and asset depreciation. Establish records, statements, and profit plans while identifying performance trends, financial risks, and alternative strategies for addressing them. Provide financial models and forecasts, coordinate with the finance team to review information, and make recommendations for improvement based on inventory analysis and identified risks. This role supports the Financial Technology Service within the VA Financial Services Center, addressing enterprise requirements for timekeeping, payroll, healthcare claims, and financial integration. The position offers flexibility for Austin, TX, or fully remote work.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Business
- 7 years related experience
- proven experience in the financial industry
- experience in creating strategically tailored financial plans
- experience in conducting targeted review of status and identify points of risk, what-if analysis
- experience in identifying alternative strategies for addressing risk
- Ability to obtain and maintain a public trust clearance
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S.
Desired Qualifications
- Experience supporting large Cabinet-level federal agencies, ideally the Department of Veterans Affairs
- Outstanding presentation, reporting, and communication skills
- Proven knowledge of financial forecasting and diagnosis, corporate finance, and information analysis
- Proficient in Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
- Comfortable using a computer for various tasks
- Proven leadership abilities
- Deep understanding of the financial system and institutions
- Ability to get up to speed quickly on complex issues

- Capable self-starter with a drive to get all types of work done and high attention to detail
- Excellent ability to communicate across most mediums and settings
- Knowledge of military and Veteran populations
