Job Summary
Assist with the complete fumigation process, including sealing, tarping, introduction of fumigant, conducting fume readings, and aerating/de-gassing facilities. Use handheld computerized equipment to manage service documentation and gas monitoring readings. Read, understand, and follow labels and MSDS forms for hazardous chemicals. Effectively communicate with customers as needed while inspecting, maintaining, and utilizing Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) properly. Follow proper safety protocols including OSHA mandated and customer specified guidelines. Use equipment involved in fumigation management services, including electronic devices for recording and reporting data. This is a field-based position in Savannah, GA, requiring 50% or more overnight travel during peak season and the ability to work overnight shifts and be on-call. Anticipate lifting up to 70 pounds and working in confined spaces, extreme heights, and various weather conditions.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Current and valid Driver's License
- Ability to obtain required fumigation certifications and licenses pursuant to country or state/local laws
- Two years of work or military experience
- Ability to obtain a TWIC card to access secure facilities
- Ability to obtain a CDL with Hazmat endorsement
- Ability to communicate effectively in English, verbally and in writing
- Understanding and interpreting English labels and Safety Data Sheets (SDS) for hazardous chemicals
- State fumigation certificate/license pursuant to country or state /local laws or ability to obtain one
- Willingness to be on-call during off work hours and weekends
- Ability to anticipate 50% or more overnight travel for business during peak season
- Ability to work overnight shifts as needed
Desired Qualifications
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Experience with reading product labels, computing and mixing accurate concentrations of chemicals, following all label requirements
- Ability to use all equipment involved in fumigation management services, including electronic devices for recording and reporting data
- Computer Skills: database software (including industry-specific software), company network-based and 'cloud'-based applications, smart phones, Microsoft Office, and other electronic devices used to access information and enter data
