Job Summary
Crisis Counselor (Fully Remote in Georgia) delivers empathetic, ethical telephonic crisis support, risk assessment, crisis intervention, safety planning, and referrals to individuals in distress. This remote role requires a private, distraction-free home office with a wired broadband connection (min 10 Mbps) and HIPAA-compliant workflow. Responsibilities include building rapport, active listening, assessing risk, providing coping strategies and resources, documenting clinically sound notes, and navigating multiple software systems. Training consists of a six-week virtual cohort with onboarding, role-playing, mentored live call work, and a defined path to ongoing scheduling. Regular availability on weekends and holidays is required post-training. Compensation includes base hourly pay with potential shift differentials and benefits such as medical/dental/life insurance, 401(k) with match, student loan repayment program, STD/LTD, EAP, PTO, and opportunities for growth.
Required Qualifications
- MSW, PsyD, or PhD in a behavioral health field, OR
- M.A./M.S. in a behavioral health field with a clinical practice emphasis from a COAMFTE, CACREP, or CORE-accredited program
- Licensure active and in good standing
- Remote work with Georgia residency required
