Job Summary
Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) responsible for a range of therapeutic and diagnostic procedures including ABG, PFTs, and various forms of ventilator support, oxygen and aerosol therapy, bronchial hygiene therapy and airway maintenance. Proficient in respiratory assessment and treatment of both adults and neonates, performed under indirect supervision of the department medical director. Responsibilities include respiratory therapeutics (oxygen administration and weaning, aerosol/humidity therapy, IPPB, incentive spirometry, airway maintenance, CPR and mechanical ventilation), cardiopulmonary diagnostics (ABG analysis, pulse oximetry, PFTs, ECG), bedside evaluations, critical-thinking actions, interpretation of CXRs/ABG/PFTs, equipment assembly and maintenance, infection control, safety and quality assurance, plus patient/satisfaction scripting and other duties as required. Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Care Program
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- Current Advanced Cardio Life Support (ACLS) certification required
- NRP, Pediatric Advanced Life Support must obtain within 1 year of hire
- Currently licensed in good standing as a Respiratory Care Practitioner by Texas Medical Board
- Registered by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC)
- At least 6 months respiratory care experience
