Job Summary
Hybrid Fullstack Staff Software Engineer role at Visa focused on designing, building, and delivering scalable payments software for a global customer base. You’ll work across complex distributed systems and payment platforms, influencing security, scalability, and reusability while collaborating with multi-functional squads to create new business flows and touch a large portion of the world’s population. The role involves developing robust web and backend services, applying modern technologies (Java, C++, HTML/JS frameworks, Kubernetes, Docker), and contributing to end-to-end software solutions for end-user merchants, business-to-business, and government-facing solutions. You’ll mentor teammates, participate in agile processes, and help advance product quality, with opportunities to learn and grow within a globally impactful payments technology organization.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 2 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 0 years of work experience with a PhD
- Experience in software engineering or a directly related field
- Experience in developing and/or implementing web-based or mobile applications
- Experience in a leadership role with or without direct reports
- Experience in technologies/software systems or a directly related field
- Experience in creating and maintaining test plans and executing testing procedures
- Experience in debugging and troubleshooting software issues
- Experience in collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver technical solutions
- Experience in code review and applying coding standards
- Experience in building or enhancing developer tools
- Proficiency with programming languages (e.g., Java, C++, HTML)
- Experience with container-based technologies and modern web services
- Experience working on client-facing projects or technical teams
