Job Summary
Lead Software Engineer at JPMorganChase within the Consumer & Community Bank, responsible for designing, developing, and troubleshooting secure production code, guiding architectural evaluations with vendors and teams, and promoting advanced technologies. Drives operational stability, leads communities of practice in software engineering, and champions diversity and inclusion while leveraging Java/Spring, React, and microservices in a cloud-heavy (AWS) environment. Requires strong hands-on expertise across full stack development, system design, security integration in the SDLC, and experience with distributed systems, monitoring/observability, and automation. Located in Wilmington, DE with on-site collaboration expectations.
Required Qualifications
- Formal training or certification on Software Engineering concepts
- 5+ years applied experience in software engineering
- Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
- 5+ years experience with Java/J2EE/Spring or Spring Boot
- 3+ years AWS services (ECS, EKS, S3, SQS, Lambda, EventBridge, SNS)
- 3+ years experience with Kafka or distributed streaming platforms
- 5+ years experience with relational or NoSQL databases (e.g., Oracle, Cassandra)
- 3+ years experience with monitoring/observability tools (Splunk, Grafana)
- 5+ years experience with security measures in SDLC (threat modeling, vulnerability assessment)
- Proficiency in CI/CD, automation, resiliency, and security
