Job Summary
Own module boundaries, state/data flow, and rendering strategy while driving the frontend roadmap through RFCs and architecture reviews. Balance deep-work coding with long-term technical direction to maintain high performance on canvases with thousands of AI-generated nodes and optimize memory usage across large documents. Set standards for testing, CI quality gates, and observability to ensure zero-regression releases, partnering closely with Design, Product, and Backend teams on tradeoffs and API design. Mentor engineers through code reviews and workshops to raise the frontend engineering craft across the organization. Serve as the technical anchor for the frontend organization in a high-leverage, hands-on role within a small, high-ownership team building the next-generation AI design tool.
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years of professional experience building large-scale web applications
- 2–4 years in owning frontend architecture and technical strategy
- Mastery of React and TypeScript for complex, high-performance UIs
- Proven track record building large editors or complex UI systems (canvas, node-based editors, multi-pane layouts, or timelines)
- Deep experience with modern state management (e.g., Zustand, Recoil, Jotai, Redux) and reactive programming
- Proven ability to optimize web applications under real-world conditions (memory management, rendering bottlenecks)
