Job Summary
Software Engineer at Applied Materials in Bangalore designs, prototypes, develops and debugs software solutions for semiconductor equipment components and devices to ensure quality and functionality. You will design and code complex software features in Java and React, write automation for new/existing features, troubleshoot difficult software problems, and interface with global teams and external customers. Willingness to travel for short-term onsite assignments (Feature Integrations & Version Installations) is expected. The role requires a Bachelor's or Master’s degree in engineering with Computer Science/Electronics/Electrical background and 6+ years in software development (including 4+ years in core product software and 4+ years in ReactJS). Proficiency in Core Java, OO design, JavaScript/ES6+, RESTful APIs, UI/UX considerations, testing with Playwright, Git, and Agile methodologies, along with strong problem-solving and communication skills.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree / master’s degree in engineering with Computer Science/Electronics/Electrical background and 10 years of experience
- Minimum of 6 years’ experience in software development with exposure to maintenance, continuous integration & releases
- Minimum of 4 years experience in core product software development
- Strong Object Oriented Design & Programming Experience
- Professional experience of Core Java Technologies (Design Pattern/Multi-threading/Data Structures/Algorithm)
- Minimum 4 years proven work experience as a ReactJS Developer
- Strong proficiency in JavaScript, CSS , ES6+ and React/Redux
- Familiarity with RESTful APIs and modern front-end build pipelines and tools
- Ability to write clean, maintainable, and efficient code
- Experience with testing frameworks such as Playwright
- Experience with version control systems, such as Git
- Exposure to Agile methodologies and tool chain (like JIRA)
- Has knowledge of best practices and how own area integrates with others
