Job Summary
Conduct regular patrols of hospital grounds, including parking areas, hallways, patient rooms, and entrances, while performing daily lock and unlock procedures. Inspect and screen bags or cargo, perform passenger searches, and monitor screening checkpoints. Provide customer service by greeting visitors and patients, offering directions, and ensuring adherence to hospital policies. De-escalate tense situations, resolve conflicts, and document daily activities, incidents, or accidents in accurate reports. Collaborate with hospital staff and local law enforcement to ensure coordinated security efforts across this busy 24/7 acute-care environment. Enforce visitor and patient protocols to uphold safety standards.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Security License for the province of Ontario
- Valid First Aid & CPR - Level C (from a WSIB-approved vendor)
- Diploma in Police Foundations, Protection Security & Investigations, Border Services, or Criminology
- Covid Vaccine two doses
- Immunization records for Mumps, Measles, Rubella, Varicella and two step TB skin test
- English (oral and written) fluency
- Certifications in Use of Force (UOF) and Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB)
- Authorized to legally work in Canada
