Job Summary
Seeking an experienced vet assistant for a three-doctor general day practice in Grove City, OH. The role involves assisting veterinarians in surgery, physical exams, and diagnostic workups; performing restraint, in-house laboratory tasks, catheter placement, and blood draws; filling prescriptions; preparing for appointments; taking medical histories; and educating clients. Requires 12+ months of full-time veterinary assistant experience, 30+ hours per week, and rotating Saturdays. Candidates should demonstrate strong communication, organization, time-management, problem-solving, and teamwork, with a passion for preventative medications and client education. Required Qualifications
- At least 12 months of full-time veterinary assistant experience in a general practice/small animal hospital
- Proven skills in proper restraining techniques, in-house laboratory skills, catheter placement, and blood draws
- Ability to accurately fill prescriptions and understand medical terminology and calculations
- Strong client education and communication skills; effective teamwork and problem-solving
- Demonstrated initiative in daily tasks (appointments, phone calls, scheduling, medical histories) and ability to stay organized
- Willingness to work a rotating Saturday schedule and maintain a minimum 30 hours per week
- Desire to learn new skills and grow within the veterinary care field
- Positive attitude and respectful team collaboration
