Job Summary
Assist Lead Teacher and Assistant Teacher in daily classroom supervision and implementation of a developmentally appropriate curriculum across multiple classrooms. Float to various classrooms providing coverage as needed, supervise children to ensure safety and well-being, greet and interact with children and families, and support kitchen, classroom, and office tasks as directed. Maintain organized materials, participate in fire/lockdown drills, prepare materials for daily program, take attendance and lunch counts, follow food handling and OSHA procedures, and attend staff meetings and professional development. Bilingual ability is a plus; role requires collaboration with staff and adherence to Easterseals values and standards.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 6 months working with young children strongly preferred
- Bilingual a plus (Spanish/English) / (Albanian/English)
- Infant, toddler and preschool development
- Knowledge of Early Childhood Education
- Connecticut Early Learning and Development standards
- Read, comprehend, and follow written and verbal directions
