Job Summary
Supervise daily laboratory operations for assigned lab sections, ensuring efficient workflow and high-quality patient testing. Schedule staff, assign tasks, oversee staffing needs, and perform CLS duties while maintaining regulatory compliance. Conduct lab testing, quality control, and documentation; monitor turnaround times and implement process improvements. Train, mentor, evaluate, and support personnel through coaching and performance appraisals. Maintain and update lab policies, oversee inventory management, and troubleshoot instrumentation. Assist with employee counseling, disciplinary actions, and implementation of new testing methodologies. Requires current California CLS license, five years of hospital laboratory experience, and three years of leadership experience. Full-time role with up to $190,000/year plus sign-on and relocation.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Health Sciences, Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, or equivalent
- Current California Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) license
- Minimum five years of hospital laboratory experience in general testing, including quality control and methodologies
- Minimum three years of leadership experience in Coordinator, Lead, Supervisor, or Manager role
- Strong knowledge of laboratory regulations, accreditation standards, and quality management practices
- Excellent leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
Desired Qualifications
- Quality Assurance (QA) and Quality Improvement (QI) experience
- BLS (Basic Life Support) for Healthcare Providers certification
