Full Time Substitute - Family Consumer Science Teacher

Job Summary
Deliver effective instruction and supervise students to ensure continuity of education when teaching vacancies occur. Develop and administer curriculum consistent with district goals, create lesson plans, and conduct ongoing assessments to modify methods for individual student needs. Maintain accurate records, grading, and reporting while encouraging parental involvement and ensuring student conduct aligns with school standards. Coordinate with faculty for curriculum evaluation, manage classroom supplies, and supervise out-of-classroom activities including transportation and lunch. Administer standardized tests and participate in professional learning communities to acquire current educational developments. Maintain reliable attendance and adapt to indoor, outdoor, and weekend environments as required by the Fort Dodge Community School District.
Required Qualifications
- Current substitute authorization through the Iowa Board of Educational Examiners
- Reliable work attendance
- Knowledge of current teaching methods and educational pedagogy enabling differentiation
- Knowledge of data information systems, data analysis and the formulation of action plans
- Knowledge of applicable federal and state laws regarding education and students
- Ability to use computer network system, technology devices and software applications
- Ability to organize and coordinate work
- Ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, coworkers and the greater community
- Ability to engage in self-evaluation with regard to performance and professional growth
- Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with others
- Lift Up to 20 pounds
- Weekends
