Job Summary
Store Associate responsibilities include merchandising and stocking products, cashiering, and cleaning to maintain a well-presented store, while delivering exceptional customer service. Duties include using the POS system to process purchases, adhering to cash policies, opening additional lanes when needed, stocking shelves per merchandising planograms, completing curbside pickup orders, maintaining inventory and safety standards, supporting management to improve operational efficiency and loss prevention, and performing general cleaning. Required skills include prompt customer service, effective communication, basic arithmetic, ability to operate store equipment, attention to detail, teamwork, reliability, and availability. Education: high school diploma or equivalent preferred; minimum age 18. Location: Mount Vernon, OH. Starting wage is $18.50 per hour with increases over time. Location-specific duties include lifting up to 45 pounds and working in various temperatures, including freezer/cold environments.
Required Qualifications
- At least 18 years old required
- Ability to provide prompt and courteous customer service
- Ability to operate cash registers and POS system
- Ability to interpret and apply ALDI operating policies and procedures
- Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing
- Ability to perform basic arithmetic such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
- Ability to follow instructions and pay attention to detail
- Ability to work both independently and with others
- Ability to organize, prioritize and complete assigned tasks to maximize productivity
- Ability to maintain reliable and prompt attendance
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Prior work experience in a retail environment preferred
